Michael Bihari, MD

Michael Bihari, MD is a board-certified pediatrician, health educator and medical writer with more than 30 years of experience developing programs to help empower people to better manage their own healthcare.

Experience

Mike works as a freelance medical writer and healthcare consultant. His in-depth experience includes executive positions in three managed care companies, executive director of one of the largest community health centers in New York City, and years of consulting work with pharmaceutical companies and health-related Internet start-ups. Recently, Mike was medical and content director for a Boston-based company that provides health information modules for physicians to use on their patient-focused websites.

Mike has significant experience developing health education programs for large audiences. For example, while serving as a vice president at the largest health plan in New York, he created and implemented a wellness program for the 11,000 employees of the company. And, during a stint as a medical director for a large pharmaceutical company, he created patient education materials for an asthma program that was implemented in more than 40 health plans.

Education

Mike received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He also completed his pediatric training at the University of Chicago and served as pediatric chief resident. Mike is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Writers Association.
